Welcome
As a playwright, interested in both the physical and visceral experience of stage performance, it is my intention to push the boundaries of time, and literal theatrical space in my storytelling. I am always exploring the conflict created not necessarily by my characters, but by their circumstances, their environment, and the world they live in.
I write about things I wish to understand. I write hoping to enlighten, entertain, or enrage, yet always, to stimulate an audience into conversation. I write out of my experience and perspective as a woman, a lesbian, and as a human being living in tumultuous, scary, and exciting times.
My stories are about identity and transformation, science and the natural world, and hope in the midst of despair. My plays unabashedly include lesbian and gay characters yet my work cannot be defined as fitting any particular niche other than an American one.
